The lake of Manimahesh which is also lovingly referred to as the dal lake of India is one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes of Uttarakhand. Placed on an elevation of 4,080 metres above sea level the entire place is surrounded by snow clad peaks of the Pir Panjal ranges in the Himalayas. The religious significance of this place is right next to that of the sacred lake mansarovar which is situated in Tibet. People take regular sacred pilgrimages to this lake in an attempt to offer their prayers to the lord which is situated in the district of Chamba in the beautiful state of Uttarakhand.
